k ben nu zo'n 30 jaar actief bezig met oude (industriële) techniek en ingenieurskunst. Vooral de Industriële Revolutie interesseert mij. De bijna sprongsgewijze ontwikkeling van vakmanschap, ambacht, nijverheid en kleinbedrijf tot grootschalige industrie lag in handen van technici, technologen en ingenieurs. Ik ben zelf werktuigbouwkundig ingenieur.

The sudden development from traditional skilled craft and small manufactories to large-scale industry was firmly based on and controlled by technical men, engineers, inventors and technologists.
